At DIGICONX THE PITCH, the main event of TOKYO DIGICONX held earlier this month, we were honoured to be chosen for the Grand Prix from twelve finalists.
The talk was titled “Set-up effort cut by 99%: next-generation visual inspection AI that starts with zero training, and what it does to inspection in high-mix low-volume production.” It was the moment the vision we have been carrying took a visible shape.
Why we were chosen
The judges responded to three things we are trying to solve with Zero-Training AI.
1. A record of being introduced and run
Not an argument on paper: companies of various sizes and industries have taken it past the trial stage and put it into service.
2. The social weight of serving high-mix, low-volume production
Japanese factories are short of people, and inspection in high-mix low-volume production has been hard to automate. A way to help there is urgently wanted.
3. How far Zero-Training AI can extend
An approach that starts from no training at all has potential well beyond visual inspection, across industries.
Underneath it: gratitude, fortune and the ties between people
This result was not the work of our company alone. Behind the technology and the convictions we spoke about on stage are the conversations we have had on factory floors with people who worried at the problems with us and tried things that did not work.
Hold gratitude, fortune and connection dear.
Gratitude for everyone who has supported us.
The fortune that brought us such an opportunity.
And the ties with the partners we are building the future alongside.
These three stay our compass. We intend to keep working on the engineering that supports Japanese manufacturing, plainly and without getting ahead of ourselves.
Next-generation visual inspection AI should take weight off more factory floors and leave people free for work that creates something. We are not slowing down on the way there.
We would be grateful for your continued support.
