We are moving into Rokugo Base

From 1 April 2026 we are taking space at Rokugo Base, an incubation facility in Ota-ku, Tokyo.

It puts us closer to manufacturers across the Tokyo area, and lets us push harder on getting next-generation visual inspection AI into use.

What Rokugo Base is

Rokugo Base is an incubation facility in Ota-ku, Tokyo, for startups that make things. Ota-ku was once called the Detroit of the East — one of Japan’s great industrial districts, and the spirit and the skill are still there. That is where we are putting our new base.

Most of the companies in the building are in manufacturing or adjacent to it, so conversation and collaboration between engineers and between founders happens on its own.

The base

  • Name: Rokugo BASE
  • Character: an incubation facility for startups that make things
  • Location: Ota-ku, Tokyo
  • Access: about 10 minutes on foot from Rokugo-dote or Zoshiki station on the Keikyu Main Line
  • Occupancy from: April 2026
  • Website: https://rokugobase.com/

Why here — how close the floor is

What decided it was proximity to the work itself. Our visual inspection AI does not get finished in a laboratory. We believe it becomes genuinely useful only through conversation with the people doing the inspection, and through trying things that do not work yet.

Around Ota-ku there is a dense cluster of small and medium manufacturers running high-mix, low-volume production. Too few people, skilled inspectors getting older, inspection that lives in one person’s head — it is these workshops that feel those problems most sharply. Moving into Rokugo Base is our way of saying we intend to be nearer to them.

Closing the last mile between the engineering and the floor is what we are for. Rokugo is about as good a place to do that from as we could ask for.

From the Grand Prix at TOKYO DIGICONX to the next stage

In January 2026 we won the Grand Prix at DIGICONX THE PITCH, the main event of TOKYO DIGICONX. The judges rated three things highly: our record of systems actually introduced and running, the social weight of serving high-mix low-volume production, and how far Zero-Training AI can extend.

Moving into Rokugo Base is the concrete next step in carrying that to the floor. We will widen our contact with manufacturers, trading companies and system integrators across the Tokyo area, and bring our Zero-Training AI — a marked reduction in set-up effort, with no training data — to more inspection lines.

From the Tokyo area, to Japanese manufacturing

Being here means we can respond faster to requests for a demonstration or a site visit. If you would like to try whether it works on your own inspection, do say so.

Gratitude for everyone who has supported us, the fortune that brought us the opportunities, and the ties with the partners we are building the future alongside: these three stay our compass, and we intend to keep going plainly and without getting ahead of ourselves.
